1940: 826/24 ROUND WIRE BASKET
The 826 Round Wire Basket comes as a variation on an age-old theme in the history of household products – that of the metal wire basket. This was the first object to emerge from research by the internal engineering department at Alessi into wire-bending technology in the late 40’s. Design by Ufficio Tecnico Alessi.

1970: 9090/6 SAPPER ESPRESSO COFFEE MAKER
The 9090/6 is a six-cup espresso coffee maker in 18/10 stainless steel with a cast iron handle. “9090” was the first “amphibious” Alessi design, meaning that it is suitable for the kitchen but attractive enough to be used directly at the table. Selected for the Permanent Design Collection at the MoMA, and recipient of the Compasso d‘Oro award (1979). Design by Richard Sapper.
