Born in Itzehoe, Germany, Kerstin Nolte started her career as a goldsmith in Hamburg. After a few years of working on her craft, she began studying Industrial Design in Berlin and Braunschweig. This experience prepared her for cooperating with M.H. Wilkens & Sohne AG on a host of projects. It was during her 15-year tenure with the company that Nolte came up with her creative process.

Kerstin Nolte is a self-described customer-oriented artist. Rather than fight for her own personal vision, Nolte likes to collaborate with her clients. This teamwork is her source of inspiration. Because of her devotion to creating functional products, Nolte's creations have a timeless appeal that keep them stylish year after year. From silverware to pens to beds, Nolte's diverse portfolio showcases her talent as an artist willing to push her creative limits. It also illustrates Nolte's devotion to her clients.
