Designer: Santiago Roqueta
Born in Barcelona, 1944, Santiago Roqueta held a doctorate in architecture. He was a professor at the ETSAB, an industrial designer, an interior designer and an artist when inspiration blessed him. Roqueta is an essential figure in the development of design in Catalonia.
In 1969, Santiago Roqueta founded the famous furniture editing company Snarck Design, thus becoming a pioneer in design editing. He undertook the project of recovering and promoting pieces of renowned artists such as Rietveld, Balla, Hoffman or Dalí, among others.
In the early 1990s, as the director of the ETSAB (School of Architecture of Barcelona), Roqueta proposed to Santa & Cole to set up an unprecedent coediting relationship, in order to promote the knowledge on Spanish design masters. This relationship gave birth to the book collections Design Classics and Contemporary Designers, that he supervised until his death in January 2005.View other products by Santiago Roqueta
