TMD Table LampPrice: $720.00
Design by Miguel Milá, 1961.
By Santa & Cole.
Following the design of his famous TMM floor lamp, created in 1961, and with the idea of creating a lamp which could be hoisted upward like a flag on a mast, Miguel Milá created the TMD Table Lamp, substituting wood for metal with a cylindrical shaft.
The shaft of the TMD Table Lamp consists of a solid iron bar, finished in satin nickel, which is supported on a circular base of the same material. The height adjustable white linen shade is raised and lowered by means of rubber stoppers and a slight pull on the cord is enough to turn the lamp on and off. A metal washer in the shaft takes and directs the cable, integrating it into the lamp.

Designer: Miguel Mila
Born in Barcelona in 1931, Miguel Milá began his professional practice in 1950 in the architecture firm of his brother Alfonso Milá and Federico Correa. Eight years later, he created his own design studio and since then he has based his career in Catalan and Spanish design. He has followed Bauhaus' rationalism, though he has based the aesthetics of his objects in the simplification of shapes and elements, in search for maximum functionality.
Miguel Milá has come to be a classic figure in design. In fact, he almost represents the history of Catalan modern design. His work has focused on bringing tradition up to date and many of his products remain popular, "thanks to having been born at a time when rigor and honesty were high values", states Milá. In 1987, he was acknowledged with the Premio Nacional de Diseño and in 2008 he received the Compasso d'Oro in recognition of his career history and his contribution to the promotion of Spanish design.View other products by Miguel Mila
