Charming, romantic, and unforgettable, Garland Light mesmerizes with its delicately etched floral patterns. The lamp is made from a continuous metal strand that is wrapped around a light bulb.
With a simple clip, Garland secures to the base of a bulb and may be shaped into practically any form. Multiple Garlands may also be intertwined to create larger shades. Garland is included in the permanent collection of MoMA New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum London. Assemble and shape in numerous ways. Available in five finishes.
Limited edition 24K gold plated Garland Lights are also available. Each comes in an elegant dark walnut display box signed by designer Tord Boontje.
An optional electrical cord & socket set can be included for use with a 60-watt lamp. This optional upgrade is offered with a Textile or Rubber Cord and is for plug in only.

Don't despair, perhaps a couple of tries for it to look evenly spaced.
Could not be happier with the unique style, quality, and overall ease of installation.

My favorite light.....ever!!!
By: Garland P., Renter (Upland, California, USA)
I have loved this artist for several years. This light hangs over our bed, gives off gentle light through the beautiful flower pattern. Our home is Victorian so ceilings are not good for heavy lighting....this lamp filled the need in every respect. Gorgeous light
I loved the Garland Light!

I was very happy with the Garland Light. The only problem was that it did not come with a matching ceiling cap. I had to search for one that looked great with it. Also I listened to one of the other reviewers and bought 2 so it would cover the light bulb a bit more. Otherwise I must agree it would have covered very sparsely. With that said it looks great! A very whimsical and unique light fixture.
It's a "WOW" piece!

I absolutely LOVE this piece! It is truly the most beautiful object in my apartment, and everyone who sees it raves about it. The only thing I disliked about it was the cord which came with it; while it was good quality, it came with a regular electrical plug at the end - this made it WAAAAAAY harder to hang from a regular light fixture socket on the ceiling. Luckily my physics degree came in handy stripping the wires etc to hook it up. :P

I ordered two garland lights in silver for our bedroom. We have a small space that called for 2 pendants instead of bedside lamps. The light kit that comes with the shade is quite bulky and utilitarian, therefore we fabricated sleeker more streamlined fixtures. The garlands add just the right amount of feminine charm to our slate grey bedroom.
Beautiful - buy more than one garland

I have the white one and love it. Definitely looks better (like the photo above) with more than one garland. Installation was fairly quick, but it takes a bit of dexterity and patience to wind the garland around the bulb. It got tangled pretty quickly. Luckily, it looks great no matter what. The white one also works well with a blue party bulb.
Unique, Creative, Solution

Am in love with the Garland Light! Bought 1 for each of 3 hanging bulbs and found I needed to put 2 garlands per bulb in order to not look too sparse. Love that one can wrap the bulbs uniquely so that each lamp looks slightly different. One complaint is that the designer needs to think more about the bulb and cord and how that might work with the garland. I used the bronze color so got a copper colored cord at Home Depot and spray painted the bulb housing bronze. The cord that comes with the lamp is too heavy looking and wrong color.
Designer: Studio Tord Boontje
Tord Boontje does not believe that modernism means minimalism. In fact, this designer from the Netherlands is not afraid to celebrate the materials he uses in designs. Sometimes this means creating layers and layers of materials. Boontje is also inspired by nature and emotion. For Boontje, nature seems to evoke feelings of wonder. Boontje's Globe Pendant illustrates this idea of thinking about nature as a wild specimen. Something that even glass cannot control. His designs are meant to stimulate the observer's imagination. It's quite hard to not create a narrative or backstory to some of his pieces.
Boontje does not believe that contemporary designs should abandon tradition. Though Boontje, employs some of the latest technology when fabricating his designs, the materials he uses or designs hold some traditional context. Perhaps, this interest in tradition comes from his background. Born in Enchede, Netherlands in 1968, Boontje studied industrial design at the Design Academy in Eindohoven and went on to earn a Masters from the Royal College of Art in London. Currently, Boonje has set up Studio Tord Boontje in Bourg-Argental, France and teaches at the Royal College of Art. When looking at some of his products, one can almost imagine him wondering through the backwoods of France–making discoveries and feeding his imagination. Boontje was nominated for the Designer Of The Year Award at the Design Museum 2003. Tord was nominated Designer of the Year by Elle Decoration UK and his renowned Garland Light (for Artecnica) won the awards for best light and readers choice for Future Classic.View other products by Studio Tord Boontje
