Canyon Sectional, 25/25
Overview
Canyon 25/25 is an elegant sectional sofa that uses innovative construction methods to achieve excellent comfort and durability.
Canyon incorporates new construction processes and manufacturing procedures. Conventional sofas are assembled using wood frames onto which springs can be mounted and fabric stapled. In contrast, Canyon combines a welded steel frame with contoured foam, woven synthetic strapping and removable covers. Canyon's welded steel frame allows it to endure longer than conventional wood framed seating and is designed to have the same structural integrity when combined with multiple pieces. A woven suspension system used in the automotive industry is uniquely attached to the steel frame, adding superior support while creating a lighter appearance.
Includes 6 back cushions and 1 bolster. Select Left- or Right-Facing sectional in Chocolate or Cream Lerici fabric. Left- or Right-Facing Sectional is determined by the location of the Arm element as you face the piece. For example, when selecting the Right-Facing Sectional, you are selecting the sectional with the arm at the right-most side.
Canyon 25/25 has an elegant profile and clean lines. Its novel construction techniques become part of its aesthetic design. This marriage of form and function results in a lightness of appearance and weight while maintaining rigid strength, durability and longevity. The removable cover allows for a piece to be cleaned or replaced.

Designer: Niels Bendtsen
Born in Denmark, Niels Bendtsen and his family immigrated to Canada in 1951. In place of a formal design education, Bendtsen trained as an apprentice for his father, who designed and built Scandinavian furniture. Through working with his father, Bendtsen gained valuable skills and a respect for non-industrial, hand-built traditions, but he was also intrigued by new technologies and ways to satisfy increasing demand. Between 1963 and 1972, Bendtsen had his own retail store where he sold his father's furniture, as well as imported Scandinavian designs. He designed small items for the store, but it wasn't until he was in his early thirties that he truly began designing furniture. Dissatisfied with the quality and limited functionality of the furniture he received from his overseas manufacturers, Bendtsen sold his store, moved to Europe and became a full time designer.
In the 1980's, he moved back to Vancouver, bought back his old store and added a manufacturing component. Using the skills he learned working with European factories, Bendtsen successfully found a balance between affordability, aesthetics and quality. Customers responded , and in the mid 1990's Bendtsen began making his designs available through other retailers.
Bendtsen's eye for simplicity and honesty is clearly visible in the sofas he has designed for the renowned Zurich based furniture brand, Linteloo.
