Pool Square Coffee Table
Note: This product is no longer available.
At first glance, the Pool Square Coffee Table appears as a glass surface floating above the floor. Clear glass sides and a colored top combine to make a table that is simple in its aesthetic appeal and exact in its execution.
Tempered glass sides and top are permanently fused at mitered corners through a UV gluing process that gives rigid strength and a clean connection. All exposed edges are flat-polished producing a table that is smooth to the touch with clean lines. The table top color is silkscreened on the bottom and baked-on to give an even complexion and a flawless permanent hue.
Offered with clear glass sides and a choice of Frost or Black top.
Precision made with miter-cut edges, the Pool Square Coffee Table allows for unique sculptural arrangements or can work beautifully as a solo element. Select Black or Frost glass top.

Designer: Niels Bendtsen
Born in Denmark, Niels Bendtsen and his family immigrated to Canada in 1951. In place of a formal design education, Bendtsen trained as an apprentice for his father, who designed and built Scandinavian furniture. Through working with his father, Bendtsen gained valuable skills and a respect for non-industrial, hand-built traditions, but he was also intrigued by new technologies and ways to satisfy increasing demand. Between 1963 and 1972, Bendtsen had his own retail store where he sold his father's furniture, as well as imported Scandinavian designs. He designed small items for the store, but it wasn't until he was in his early thirties that he truly began designing furniture. Dissatisfied with the quality and limited functionality of the furniture he received from his overseas manufacturers, Bendtsen sold his store, moved to Europe and became a full time designer.
In the 1980's, he moved back to Vancouver, bought back his old store and added a manufacturing component. Using the skills he learned working with European factories, Bendtsen successfully found a balance between affordability, aesthetics and quality. Customers responded , and in the mid 1990's Bendtsen began making his designs available through other retailers.
Bendtsen's eye for simplicity and honesty is clearly visible in the sofas he has designed for the renowned Zurich based furniture brand, Linteloo.
Bensen was started in 1981 by designer Niels Bendtsen. Along with his staff, Bendtsen designs and oversees production of an extensive line of furnishings. The Bensen philosophy balances simplicity and honesty to produce designs that can continue to grow in today's ever changing world.
