The Fish is available in two sizes and can be stacked. The 3-layer is for the child who has just learned to sit. Use it to roll, rock or chase. This smaller version also lies down so the child can sit — and later stand on it to take steps up and down from it, enhancing strength, balance and coordination.
The 6-layer is for the older child. And once you stack them, they fit teenagers and grown-ups. It features all the same good functions as the smaller version, but it also enables the child to sit on it while rolling it, which enhances not only balance, but also the joint senses. Children can lie across the Fish to strengthen the backside of their bodies and can exercise their arms through the pressure from their own body weight.

Bolette and Louise Blædel
When the designer Bolette Blædel was on maternity leave with her first son, she soon discovered the scarcity of children's furniture that encourages play, creativity and physical exercise, while at the same time satisfying her preference for good, Danish design. With her sister, the fashion designer Louise Blædel, she therefore conceived the idea of creating a series of multifunctional furniture that children want to play with and adults want to bring into their sitting room.

The Tumbling Animals product line is based on simple geometric forms - cut in the shape of animals. Meet the Fish Tumbling Animal: suitable for children's furniture, but designed for creative play. Children can tumble, roll, balance, seesaw, rock, jump and gain some bodily experience, which can serve as the foundation for further development.

The tumbling fish animal makes a great step stool. It is light weight and easily carried from room to room by my toddler-- bathroom to bedroom to kitchen for brushing teeth, reaching shelves, and watching me prepare meals. It is a great tool for a self-directed toddler who needs a little extra height. Instruct your child to use it carefully, however, as my toddler has fallen a couple of times by putting his weight on the edge of the fish. The bright colors make it fun and a great compliment to his playful decor. It can also be flipped on its side and used to roll on, though this is not my favorite application as we have stairs...
The product comes with an ominous warning to not take the material in sunlight, which makes me a little uneasy. Otherwise, it is a great product and I am loving watching my toddler figure out new ways to make use of it.
Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
