BuzziSpace: Keeping the peace through innovative, eco-friendly designs for home and office
BuzziSpace, established in Antwerp in 2007, offers innovative acoustic solutions for home and office environments. The company's designs focus on multi-functionalism while embodying functionality, lightness, and flexibility. BuzziSpace strives for innovative acoustic solutions executed via unique products with diverse uses. As the movement towards working and living in open, public spaces grows; private and quiet places for a phone call or meeting are diminishing. BuzziSpace seeks to address these diminishing spots of peace and quiet without disrupting the flow of the open environments where they are located.
Distinguished by acoustics, ecology and flexibility, BuzziSpace products contain a core of sound absorbing eco felt created from 100% recycled plastic bottle waste. Designs aim for optimal sound absorption by concentrating on the range of human speech, the sound frequencies of 250 Hz and 2000 Hz, to create the most peaceful spaces possible.
BuzziSpace is committed to preserving the environment by focusing on a "cradle to cradle" philosophy. Products are created from recycled materials and are recyclable. The company closely monitors raw material recycling in order to continually economize and improve this process, reducing the environmental strain to a minimum impact. This goal has resulted in the development of signature materials BuzziFelt, BuzziRough, and BuzziFabric - all created with recycled content to meet the acoustic and environmental benefits which distinguish BuzziSpace products.
BuzziSpace is the recipient of the of the OVAM Ecodesign Award Pro in 2009 and the Henry van de Velde Award for most innovative company in 2011.
