The Cherner Chair Company was founded in 1999 by Benjamin Cherner and his brother Thomas, in response to countless requests from fellow architects to reissue their father's designs. Utilizing Norman Cherner's original drawings and specifications, the reissued designs are manufactured with the same attention to detail found in the original handmade classics featured in design collections worldwide. In addition to reissuing Norman Cherner designs, The Cherner Chair Company also features new designs by Benjamin Cherner.
The Cherner Chair Company is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of all their products. All components of Cherner Chair products are replaceable, ensuring that the chairs, tables, and stools can be handed down generation to generation, never ending up in a landfill.
All Cherner products are manufactured with strict attention to detail and are hand assembled from woods collected from sustainably managed forests, with 100% recyclable steel and with 25% recycled content. Wood and steel components are finished with coatings that emit negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
