Overview
Made in Portugal by De La Espada.
The long rectangular Atlantico Sideboard stands tall on slender legs. The interior is divided into generous compartments and drawers for effective, organized storage in your modern dining space. Sliding doors with rebated handles conceal the goods within. Available in American Black Walnut or American White Oak finished with a Danish oil or white oil.
Each component of this sideboard is meticulously crafted. The cabinet top, base, side and internal dividing panels are manufactured from solid planks of oak or walnut, connected together using wooden dowels and adhesive. Screws disguised with long grain dowels strengthen the main timber panel connections. The rear panel is manufactured from plywood with a matching veneer on both sides. The panel is slotted into the rebated frame for a seamless connection. The cabinet leg structure is also made from solid oak or walnut with mortise and tenon joints. Drawer fronts are solid oak or walnut attached to American Basswood drawer sides using dovetail joinery. The base panel of the drawers is made from plywood with a matching veneer, and this panel slots into rebates in the drawer sides for a seamless connection. Hidden metal runners on the underside of the drawers have a spring "pull back" action.
Select Black Walnut or White Oak with Danish Oiled or White Oiled finish.
Notes:

Manufacturer: De La Espada
De La Espada is a leading designer and manufacturer of modern solid wood furniture, founded by Luis De Oliveira and Fatima De La Espada in 1993. Hailing from Porto and Madrid respectively and educated in London, the founders opened the first De La Espada store in London in 1996, when there was comparatively little quality contemporary furniture in the city. De La Espada's dedicated factory in Portugal specializes in hand crafting and traditional construction methods to create modern furniture with timeless appeal and the warmth of solid wood.
The De La Espada aesthetic evolved from influences including the Arts and Crafts movement, architects such as Tadao Ando, John Pawson and Alvaro Siza, as well as Scandinavian design from the 1950s. Their expertise in solid wood is renowned and rooted in many years of production at De La Espada's own facility in Northern Portugal. Mortise and tenon joinery, dovetail joinery and frame and panel construction are used in abundance, creating modern masterpieces of heirloom quality.
