Design House Stockholm
Design House Stockholm works with an extensive network of independent designers, in the same way publishing houses work with authors, collaborating with new, up-and-coming talent as well as with more established names. Although the majority of their designers are from Scandinavia, Design House Stockholm works with designers from all over the world in search of that special Scandinavian touch. The Design House Stockholm collection includes functional and aesthetically refined design products of timeless appeal ranging from tableware and lighting to furniture and textiles.
Lena Bergström is one of Sweden's best-known glass designers with a long career at Orrefors Glassworks, and she also specializes in textiles. In her own words, she likes soft glass and hard textiles — her textiles often have a clear graphic expression, while her glass designs are more organic.
Lena graduated from Konstfack's textile department, and has won numerous awards including 12 Excellent Swedish Design and 3 Elle Decoration Design Awards. Her work is represented by the National Museum in Stockholm, The Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Decorative Arts in Gothenburg, the Cleveland Museum of Art in the United States, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
