The 20-06™ Stacking Chair is a slightly anonymous chair by one of the world's greatest architects. A fusion of modernist form with established craft. The DNA of Emeco's first chair runs through 20-06™ but this new chair belongs to the new century. Ultra slim with a seamless appearance. Recycled brushed aluminum. Stacks 12 high.
20-06™ is part of the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Gallery, NYC.
Notes: Covered by Emeco's 7-year limited warranty.
"I appreciate the anonymous character of the new chair - it meshes seamlessly with our vision for interior space. The new '20-06' is the result of a genuine collaboration between the Foster Studio and the Emeco Team and will contribute to Emeco's remarkable history. We attempted to fuse modernist form with established craft. The Foster + Partners Studio combined advanced technology, inventive geometry, attention to detail, and sensitivity to ecological considerations with Emeco's unique manufacturing process to make a wholly new design. A Foster building and an Emeco chair are both modern in character, yet demonstrate a great respect for the past."
- Norman Foster (from Emeco.net)
Handmade from 80% recycled aluminum. Designed to last for 150 years. 20-06™ Stacking Chairs are tempered for ultimate strength in a proprietary 77-step process. Emeco is the only company in the world to do this.

Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
