Designed for a Chinese restaurant in Paris. Inspired by Versailles. Hand-made from 24 separate pieces of aluminum and polished for eight hours in Pennsylvania. Available around the world. ThatÃ��Ã�¯Ã��Ã�¿Ã��Ã�½s what we call détente.
Notes:
Emeco furniture is hand welded and hand brushed for a warm, uniform finish. Weld lines are natural and always visible, and can range from very light to slightly darker than the adjoining aluminum surface. All Emeco furniture will exhibit slight variations of handcraft.

Emeco has an interesting history beginning in 1944 with the 1006 Navy chair, the granddaddy of Emeco that was designed to withstand the harsh environment on a Navy ship. (Legend has it, the seat of the Emeco 1006 Navy Chair was modeled after the seat of actress Betty Grable.) Since then Emeco has had some new editions, designed by some good friends: Philippe Starck, Frank Gehry and Ettore Sottsass to name a few.
