With Lancaster, Emeco collaborated with British designer Michael Young, whose passion for technology and innovation, lead to the company's first venture into component-based design. The Lancaster Counter Stool combines a cast aluminum seat, back and footrest with carved ash wood legs. Wooden components are crafted at an Amish wood factory in Lancaster County - near Emeco's Pennsylvania facilities - giving the collection its name. This marriage of materials holds true to Emeco and Young's mutual desire to build products that will last a lifetime. The Stool's 18" seat height and lightweight make it the perfect pairing for counter height tables and counters.
The Counter Stool features Emeco's extremely durable cast aluminum seat/seat back and footrest in powder coated Dark or Light Gray or Polished Aluminum finishes. Wood legs are available in Natural ash wood or Dark stain ash wood.

Emeco. Timeless, handmade chairs, made in the U.S.A. from recycled aluminum.
Emeco has an interesting history beginning in 1944 with the 1006 Navy chair, the granddaddy of Emeco that was designed to withstand the harsh environment on a Navy ship. (Legend has it, the seat of the Emeco 1006 Navy Chair was modeled after the seat of actress Betty Grable.) Since then Emeco has had some new editions, designed by some good friends: Philippe Starck, Frank Gehry and Ettore Sottsass to name a few.
