The enduring, timeless Navy Chair - first introduced in 1944 - is versatile and clever enough for pairing with a range of elements from warm woods to cool glass and metal. And designed to last 150 years. This classic industrial style is available with or without arms, in Hand Brushed (shown at left) or Hand Polished finish.

Navy® Collection chairs by Emeco are admired today and indefinitely. Chairs that span generations and cultures. Built individually by a handful of craftsmen, 77 painstaking steps at a time.

Notes:

Emeco furniture is hand welded and hand brushed for a warm, uniform finish. Weld lines are natural and always visible, and can range from very light to slightly darker than the adjoining aluminum surface. All Emeco furniture will exhibit slight variations of handcraft.

Emeco has an interesting history beginning in 1944 with the 1006 Navy chair, the granddaddy of Emeco that was designed to withstand the harsh environment on a Navy ship. (Legend has it, the seat of the Emeco 1006 Navy Chair was modeled after the seat of actress Betty Grable.) Since then Emeco has had some new editions, designed by some good friends: Philippe Starck, Frank Gehry and Ettore Sottsass to name a few.

Emeco is a leader when it comes to chair fabrication. Committed to sustainability and protecting the environment, Emeco uses post consumer and post industrial waste to create chairs with ultimate strength, intended to last decades.
