Flensted Mobiles created its first moving mobile over 50 years ago and the company has been expanding its assortment of playfully engaging and dynamic designs ever since. These modern moving mobiles are designed so that the elements are in constant motion while the entire mobile maintains a harmonic balance.

The Splash Mobile features six splashes of colorful plexiglass; each piece uniquely shaped and reminiscent of paint splatters with an inspirational nod to great contemporary abstract artist, Jackson Pollock. Splash screams "Put me in a window!" and we agree! Light will shine through the plexiglass mobile to project a magical display of colors and play brilliantly along the edges of the "splatters" as they turn and shape-shift.

The Splash Mobile features six splashes of colorful plexiglass. The uniquely shaped elements are reminiscent of paint splatters inspired by great contemporary abstract artist, Jackson Pollock. Place Splash Mobile in a window and light will shine through the plexiglass to project a display of colors that dance and shape-shift as the mobile turns.

Flensted Mobiles: It's All in the Family

Flensted Mobiles gave birth to its first design, the Stork Mobile, in Denmark in 1953 when Christian Flensted and his wife Grethe celebrated the birth of their first daughter. Since then, the Stork Mobile, and its successors, have flown all around the world.

As the fledgling family business grew, it relocated to "The Stork's Nest" in Tommerup and eventually to the FLENSTED MOBILE CENTRE in Brenderup, nearly 15 years later, where it remains today. Christian's son, Ole Flensted, and his wife Aase now continue the family tradition. Original ideas and new mobile designs are issued regularly from their "Department of Space Resarch".

Mobiles are a traditional craft in Denmark, but the modern mobile - as a decoration for the home - was pioneered by the Flensted family. All Flensted Mobiles are designed so that the elements are in constant motion while the entire mobile maintains a harmonic balance. The Flensted family has always claimed that "creating mobiles is not just our job, it is our life".
