Focal Upright is pioneering a new way of working, introducing ergonomic office furniture that feels both radical and at the same time entirely familiar. Co-founded By Martin Keen of Keen Footwear, Focal Upright has a solid foundation in ergonomics and utilitarian design. After achieving great success in the outdoor footwear industry, Keen saw a need for improvement and innovation of office furniture after struggling to get comfortable while working in his own design studio. From that moment on, developing the ideal standing desk and seat became Keen's new calling. To that end Keen and his wife Mary founded Focal Upright Furniture.
Driven by a belief that it is possible to be more active in the workplace even when spending the the whole day in front of the computer, Focal Upright's product line promotes a new, healthier working posture halfway between sitting and standing.
Their Upright Office, built around the innovative Locus Seat, helps workers achieve an upright posture that takes stress off the lungs and other internal organs, while at the same time opening the hip angle to reduce strain on the back.
The science behind Focal Upright's philosophy is clear. Studies have shown that increased physical activity in the workplace is associated with improved employee engagement, reduced stress levels and increased productivity in the workplace.
Focal Upright has already garnered critical acclaim for their products, winning Inc. Magazine's Best in Class award for the Sphere Workstation and an additional nomination for their Mobis Leaning Stool.
Afer a decade of development, the next level of ergonomic office furniture has arrived. Welcome to the Upright Revolution!
