Circus 07 Grande Wall / Ceiling Light
The cornerstone of Foscarini is research into forms and materials. Established in 1981 in Venice, Foscarini started out by exploring the opportunities offered by Murano glass. Over the years, the range of materials used has expanded to include glass, polyethylene, wood and aluminum, as well as patented materials such as an exclusive textured glass and Kevlar, or carbon fiber composite.
Some of the designers that have created for Foscarini are: Aldo Cibic, Defne Koz, Denis Santachiara, Ferruccio Laviani, Giovanni Levanti, Itamar Harari, Jozeph Forakis, Karim Rashid, Lievore Asociados, Luca Nichetto / Gianpetro Gai, Marc Sadler, Matilde Alessandra, Patricia Urquiola / Eliana Gerotto, Pietro Lissoni, Pio & Tito Tossi, Prospero Rasulo, Roberto & Ludovica Palomba, Rodolfo Dordoni, Studio Kairos, Tom Dixon, Urbinati - Ricci e Vecchiato, Valerio Bottin.
Born in Ankara in 1964, Defne Koz is arguably Turkey's best-known designer. Having studied Italian at Ankara University, she completed a masters degree in industrial design at Domus Academy in Milan and was later a teacher. From 1990 to 1992, she worked for the great Ettore Sottsass, before opening her own studio in Milan.
Defne Koz now has studios in Ankara, Milan and Chicago and has designed for a number of international companies. Her design style shows clear indications of the contemporary Milan school mixed with simple but evocative hints of the Middle East.View other products by Defne Koz
