The Still Vase shows the fluidity of the clay Olav Slingerland is working with. While pouring clay in a mold, the form comes into existence. This process is translated to a mass of clay, poured out of a vase and frozen at the moment it flows over the edge. The title 'Still' refers to the indication of a frozen video or film fragment.

The Still Vase is fluidity frozen in time. It looks like it is liquid and about to overflow the edge, but the Still Vase is forever frozen in motion. An Olav Slingerland design.

While studying industrial design at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Olav Slingerland became interested in the possibilities of molding in the ceramics production process. Molding allows small series to be made which reflect the touch of the artist. He executes the entire production process of his designs himself. His pieces are intensely personal and reflect his cheerful character.
