Design by Charles & Ray Eames, 1958.
Made in the U.S.A. by Herman Miller.
Herman Miller introduced the Eames Aluminum Group in 1958. The Management Chair is both classic and contemporary. The chair's clean, trim lines make it appropriate for all kinds of places, from contemporary homes to elegant offices to hip startups. This low-back chair with arms has a lightweight polished aluminum frame with suspended upholstery. It has a 5-star base, tilt-swivel mechanism, and seat-height adjustment. The chair is available with casters for hard floors or carpet.
NEW! The Aluminum Group Management Chair is now offered with a pneumatic height adjustment feature and tilt lock option. The pneumatic option increases the ease of height adjustment and range of motion to suit a broader range of seating applications and body types. Tilt lock allows the seat angle to be secured in a neutral position.
Herman Miller has painstakingly preserved this classic silhouette and updated its usability for modern applications. The Aluminum Group, upholstered in traditional fabric or leather, is ribbed at 1-7/8" intervals for a clean, refined appearance. With one-piece curved aluminum side ribs and an aluminum base, the Eames Aluminum Group Management Chair is strong, yet lightweight and easy to move.
Select Manual or Pneumatic Seat-Height Adjustment and caster option. Then select base/frame finish and upholstery textile color.

Beauty and the Seat

Gorgeous chair, well constructed and comfortable. Only down side is that it could have bit more cushion. Get the pneumatic height adjustment. You'll be glad you did.
Art as furniture

The Management Chair looks beautiful in the space and glides around with complete ease. Pneumatic lift is a must have as well, as I like to tuck the chair under my desk when I'm not working and this would not be possible unless I lower the chair all the way. My only issue is that it's not as cushy as I was hoping although it's still quite comfortable and the armrests provide good support.
comfortable desk chair

not only is this chair great looking when no one's sitting in it, it's comfortable, too! i ordered the one with the 'soft' wheels which work well on my tile and carpet. the tilt feature was an unexpected and welcome surprise.
Worth the splurge.

Great product .... But
By: D.S., Homeowner (Alameda CA)
Everything was great except the shipping and packaging. The box that my chair was shipped in was all crunched up. There were scuff marks on the base of the chair. Luckily nothing else was damaged. I had to polish out the scuff marks with extra fine sandpaper and polished it with dremel tool to make it look new. I guess I could have complained and get a new one. It wasn't too big of a deal that I couldn't handle a bit of touch up. But I was disappointed at how Herman Miller had packed this item and how the shipping company don't care about damaging the box (and items).
We love it!

Designer: Charles + Ray Eames
A chair that looked like a potato chip. Another that resembled a "well-used first baseman's mitt." A folding screen that rippled...
With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look."
That look and their relationship with Herman Miller started with molded plywood chairs in the late 1940s and includes the world-renowned Eames lounge chair, now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.View other products by Charles + Ray Eames
