The Eames® Molded Plastic Rocker Chair is a mid-century classic. Charles and Ray Eames adapted molding techniques developed during World War II to mass produce this classic design. Today's molded plastic chairs are true to the originals and are fully authentic, with updated materials to meet environmental requirements. Herman Miller

Herman Miller has been dedicated to design for more than 75 years. With a design legacy that began under the leadership of Gilbert Rohde and George Nelson in the 1930s and 40s, the company gained a worldwide following for its modern furniture collection by the early 1950s, with chairs, sofas and tables for home and office by designers like Charles & Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, George Nelson, and Isamu Noguchi. These icons of modern design developed products that still endure today. And, through continued innovation at the company and a new generation of designers and ideas, the products that Herman Miller makes today will endure for decades to come. Herman Miller works for a better world around you. They do this by designing furnishings that improve the human experience - from pioneering the way for ergonomic office seating and furniture to stewarding environmental leadership in its business and manufacturing processes, product material usage and product life cycles. Herman Miller's longstanding commitment to the world around us continues to drive design solutions for the modern home and workspace. The company continues to develop its designer relationships with names like Yves Behar, Jeff Weber and Studio 7 adding lighting, storage and office collections to its catalog of design classics.

Charles + Ray Eames

With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look."

That look and their relationship with Herman Miller started with molded plywood chairs in the late 1940s and includes the world-renowned Eames lounge chair, now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

In addition to his professional career, Mark has been an industrial design professor at Pratt Institute for 14 years. In his graduate furniture design class, students are responsible for the ideation, design, and execution of an actual piece of furniture. The emphasis of the course is to encourage students to develop their own individual point of view.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute, but not what I expected... My husband and myself have a few larger Eames pieces and had been looking to pick this up for awhile. While this chair is cute, I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the quality and the size for the price-it didn't really met our expectations. I did think it was a child size chair when I opened the box! It's quite small but very pretty and will fill out a corner of our home nicely. Looking to have some cushions made for it as well, as it's not the most comfortable thing and does get a little cold. Not too sure I'd buy another or recommend to a friend-chair was bought during a sale, if I paid full price I would have been kind of upset.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A true american classic but anything but stuffy My boyfriend has lusted after this chair since before we met and wanted this to be our first purchase together. I love the look and can't believe how comfy it is. When it finally arrived (it took just over 4 weeks which is horrible for those who like instant gratification but less than what we were told to expect) we were a bit thrown by the proportions -- it seems low and small to the ground next to our couch. Also the graystone color was too close but not close enough to our wall color. But with an off white pillow and a little getting used to, we love it and wouldn't want it any other way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is such a comfortable and beautiful chair. I purchased this rocker in lime green. Yliving sent color samples quickly the colors are so beautiful the lime green has a lot of yellow it's not key lime pie. Anyway the chair rocks in more ways then one so comfy and I can even prop my feet up in it! The seat is nice and wide. Also it's made in the USA thats hard to find these days. Such a great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A pleasure to deal with! My husband and I were over the moon with the excellent service at Y-Living. We purchased an Eames RAR rocker at the annual Eames sale. The item arrived in perfect condition within the time frame specified and the shipping company was a pleasure to work with. I couldn't recommend them more highly!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great looking chair The chair fits in perfectly with our home and I don't regret purchasing it for the house. However, I was hoping it be comfortable since I've seen several of these in nurseries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs better rockers The chair is not to bad but they need to use a stronger wood for the rockers. For the support that is required the wood is not strong enough and they break to easy.
