Eames® Walnut Stools
Overview
Ray Eames drew on her training as a sculptor to design a new kind of occasional piece for the lobby of the Time-Life Building in New York City. Eames walnut stools became her favorite seats and were liberally scattered about the Charles and Ray Eames home in Pacific Palisades. Made of solid walnut, these 15-inch-high stools can be used anywhere and are beautifully versatile. Besides being places to sit, they also serve as low tables, display surfaces, or simply objects to be admired. Select from three distinctively sculpted profiles. The top surface and the smaller bottom surface are both concave and can be placed up on either end.

I love this little stool paired next to the Eames lounge. Great for books, a cup of coffee, as an ottoman for your feet, or just an architectural piece. I love it, no regrets!!!

Looks great as an end table next to one of my sofas. Am thinking of ordering another one for the other sofa. Will also use it as extra seating when I entertain.

Have admired the Eames stools for years, and finally just decided to indulge myself. Who needs 3 stools? Since I couldn't decide which one to buy, I just decided to buy all three. We have the butterfly stools too. I also particularly love walnut. For years, my family grew walnut trees which we sold one by one to the industry. Now I find them great to sit in. Thanks.
Designer: Charles + Ray Eames
A chair that looked like a potato chip. Another that resembled a "well-used first baseman's mitt." A folding screen that rippled...
With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look."
That look and their relationship with Herman Miller started with molded plywood chairs in the late 1940s and includes the world-renowned Eames lounge chair, now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
