Mirra® Adjustable Chair
Overview
Design by Studio 7.5, 2003.
Made in the U.S.A. by Herman Miller.
Mirra® folds the ergonomic qualities of the classic Aeron into a more high-tech, bold aesthetic while maintaining an attractive price. The sleek shape, conforming polymer back and seat suspension and the stylish color offerings make this chair a statement in and of itself.
The designers at Studio 7.5 envisioned a chair that reacts to what people do. From the TriFlex back to the AireWeave seat suspension to the Harmonic tilt, Mirra does just what Studio 7.5 worked to achieve: Just sit on it, and it fits. There are only a few adjustment controls, and they are designed to be very intuitive.
The Mirra® Adjustable Chair offers superior back support. The pliable, elastic TriFlex back supports the entire spine and conforms to size, posture, and movements. A camber shape at the base of the back gives healthful, comfortable support to the lower back below the beltline. Features Harmonic Tilt that creates pivot points at the hip, knee, and ankle to allow easy and natural movement. AireWeave suspension provides custom seat comfort. This elastomeric suspension seat follows the contours of the body, distributes pressure evenly, and provides aeration. With upgraded features like a Tilt Limiter with Seat Angle Adjustment, 3-Dimensional Adjustable Arms, FlexFront® Adjustable Seat Depth, TriFlex™ Polymer Back and Adjustable Lumbar Support, this fully adjustable model offers tailored, all day comfort.
The Mirra Adjustable Chair features Standard-Height Range, Tilt Limiter or Tilt Limiter/Seat Angle, Adjustable Arms, FlexFront Seat Depth, and a TriFlex™ Polymer Back. Customize your Mirra with options in Back Support, Base/Frame finish, Casters/Glides and colors options for arms, seat back and seat fabric.
Also available in the Mirra® Basic Chair.

When Burkhard Schmitz, Claudia Plikat, Nicolai Neubert, and Carola Zwick founded Studio 7.5 in Berlin, Germany, they were looking for freedom to work on projects that interested them, freedom from rules, roles, and titles.
And that's pretty much how they've operated ever since. "There are no bosses here," says the group, which also now includes Carola's brother Roland. Preferring to be heard as a single voice, they continue, "Everybody does everything. That's how we cultivate ideas and maintain our openness and curiosity."
The group finds designing office chairs in particular to be the most rewarding. "We define not only how a chair looks but how it performs, even down to the characteristics of the tilt. We're very involved with its physical behavior, because beauty is not only what you see, it's also what you feel."
