Want something more to love? How about durable construction: cushions are individually upholstered and replaceable; back cushions are interchangeable and shock mounts are resilient natural rubber. Shells are made of a durable seven-ply wood veneer; the base and back braces are die-cast aluminum. All pieces are hand assembled, and are produced from wood harvested exclusively from sustainably managed forests.

Couldn't be happier!
We wanted an Eames lounge chair and ottoman but in a leather and wood combination that would fit into our renovated NYC loft. My husband is an architect. The Eames Chair exudes true quality. It is simply the most comfortable and stylish piece of furniture you'll likely find, anywhere. I freely admit it is expensive, but I assure you, it's worth it. It's just one of those possessions those you leave behind will treasure, and after owning one, it's easy to understand why. Packaging from Herman Miller was refreshingly secure and compact. No damage to report!
Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
