Eames Storage Units are true to the inventive originals introduced in 1950. Designed as both storage place and display cabinet, they are a striking example of how Charles and Ray Eames extended the boundaries of design to create a new modern aesthetic for the office and home.
Available in 1, 2, or 4 units high and 1 or 2 units wide with 5 configurations of shelves, drawers, and enclosed storage for books or binders. Units have dimpled plywood doors, plywood drawer units and shelves, painted side and back panels, and steel uprights, cross supports, perforated panels and adjustable glides.

That look and their relationship with Herman Miller started with molded plywood chairs in the late 1940s and includes the world-renowned Eames lounge chair, now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Eames Storage Units are composed of cases, cabinets, and drawers in five configurations and four sizes. Each configuration is offered in two color schemes: neutral or bright. Uprights, cross-supports, and perforated panels are zinc-coated steel; cabinet fronts are dimpled plywood; drawer fronts and shelves are molded plywood; case side and back panels are painted hardboard. And each configuration is easy on floors - feet have nylon glides.

Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
