Design Year: 1948.
Sculptor Isamu Noguchi took wood and glass and blended them together to make this graceful, organic piece of furniture. The Noguchi table's balance of sculptural form and durable function has made it an understated and beautiful element in homes and offices since its introduction in 1948. Constructed of three pieces: a freeform, 3/4-inch plate-glass top resting on two curved, solid wood legs that interlock to form a tripod for self-stabilizing support.

The son of an American writer and a Japanese poet, Isamu Noguchi was born in Los Angeles in 1904. He spent his childhood in Japan and his adolescence in America. NoguchiÕs fascination with art began while he was a pre-med student at Columbia University. A Guggenheim Fellowship in 1927 took him to Paris, where he worked in BrancusiÕs atelier. NoguchiÕs interests were as wide ranging as his travels: He designed visionary sets and costumes for the Martha Graham Dance Company and New York City Ballet, furniture and objects for a variety of manufacturers, the Akari lamps and myriad environments, site installations and large-scale public sculptures of great note. The Noguchi Garden Museum in Long Island City, New York, is a repository of his work.
To assure authenticity, the signature of Isamu Noguchi discreetly appears on the edge of the top and on a medallion on the underside of the base. Under the medallion, his initials are stamped into the base.

Lovely Addition to Our Living Room
We're very happy with our choice of the Noguchi table for our living room. The product is of the highest quality. The staff a YLiving was very helpful with our initial order, informing me up front about the likely 8 week wait for the product. We were so pleased when we received the email notifying us that it wouldn't take that entire time before the table could be delivered. The delivery company was excellent in timeliness and service at our home. Assembly of the table was very straight-forward when we followed the included instructions.

Beautiful design and very strong construction; I love this product
I bought this together with two Eames Lounge Chairs and they look wonderful side-by-side. The glass is about 1 inch thick and the legs are very thick also.
Zwell packed it very carefully in a crate, so there was no damage: I just wish I could have had it uncrated! YLiving said that would have costed another $100 for "white glove" service; it took 2 people, 3-4 hours to remove the packing!!

Beautiful Table
A stunning piece that will tie a room together beautifully. It is fragile due to the assembly--the glass rests on the base without any attachment. Still, the glass is heavy and the table sturdy.
