Great quality and colorful.

I have been looking for dinner plates for every day use for quite some time. I have had my eye on the Origo dinner plates for a few years now, but they are a little pricey so I kept looking. I have spent money on cheaper plates in the past that don't stand up to everyday use. Knowing the Iittala brand I decided to buy the orange Origo dinner plates and I love them. They are excellent quality, classic design and look great with any kind of table setting.
Sleek and stylish dishes
By: K. G., Homeowner (Austin TX)
We looked for dishes with a design sense for quite a while and found it difficult to get away from the French country style that dominates the department stores. The Origo collection is perfect: fresh, colorful, sleek lines, and each dish is nicely sized. This is especially true of the dinner plates. They are large enough to give you a healthy serving, but not so large that they invite you to overeat.
Designer: Alfredo Haberli
Alfredo Häberli was born in 1964 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied industrial design in Switzerland. Today, he is a well-known international designer based in Zurich. In his designs, Häberli successfully combines tradition and renewal. There is joy and energy in his designs.
The human being is the starting point of Häberli's design process. His objects and structures are designed to be used. He is unprejudiced and inventive in his observation of the actual situation in which an object is used and does not create form for the sake of it.
Based on his insights, Häberli designs changes to the archetypes of objects that have developed through the times, which makes the everyday objects around people fit this time and the situation they are used in precisely.View other products by Alfredo Haberli
In the early years of modernism and functionalism, during the 1930s and 40s, pioneers like Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck led the development of the Iittala brand. Their belief was that objects should always be designed with a thought, essential and above all, available to all. It was their thinking that set the foundation for the Iittala design philosophy — to push the boundaries and to give people beauty and function.
Iittala strives to create icons that will last a lifetime. What started as a glass factory in Iittala, Finland, now celebrates generations of essential objects that are made to enrich people's everyday lives. More than just beautiful objects, Iittala creates timeless designs that will never be thrown away.View other products from Iittala
