Teema is a range of 21st century design objects created by Kaj Franck in the 1950s. They represent the essential design thought at the heart of the Iittala collection. The idea is simple — find the object's simplest form so it can fulfill more functions to be combined in the right way for each occasion. Designed to serve every need from preparing to serving, Teema Dinnerware is offered in a range of plates, cups and bowls with hand-applied colors from soft to bold.
Based on bold, geometric forms, the Teema Dinnerware Collection is part of a larger thought-through system where everything fits with everything. Every new design object complements the ones that come before and after, in design as well as color, to offer the highest quality combinable, multi-purpose tools for an active and modern life.

In the early years of modernism and functionalism, during the 1930s and 40s, pioneers like Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck led the development of the Iittala brand. Their belief was that objects should always be designed with a thought, essential and above all, available to all. It was their thinking that set the foundation for the Iittala design philosophy — to push the boundaries and to give people beauty and function.
Iittala strives to create icons that will last a lifetime. What started as a glass factory in Iittala, Finland, now celebrates generations of essential objects that are made to enrich people's everyday lives. More than just beautiful objects, Iittala creates timeless designs that will never be thrown away.View other products from Iittala
