Designer: Per Weiss
Per Weiss was born in 1959 in Denmark and is the Director of Innovation Design Office International. As an all-round creative person, he started his career as a professional musician, while already studying at the School of Architecture in Aarhus. Then giving a higher priority to his design visions, he worked for Danish architects, Friis & Moltke and Schmidt-Hammer & Lassen. In 1988 he graduated as an industrial designer. Since 1989 Per Weiss has been the head of Innovation Design Office and responsible for concept, product design and marketing. Per Weiss likes to express his creativity on a variety of platforms.
"My approach to industrial design is multiple and holistic. Design cannot be seen as an isolated mission and the creative process should not be fragmented by artificial professional boundaries. This is why I work full scale conceptual, starting with strategy and trend-spotting over design and graphics to photography and layout. Inspiration and insight grows out of this dynamic working situation, shaping designs that actually affect the target group."

Manufacturer: Innovation
Innovation was founded in 1971 in Denmark by Flemming Hoejfeldt, who is still the owner and Chairman of the company. Inspired by his personal experience with the first production communities of the flower power generation, he started the company with a production of beanbags. For 15 years Innovation functioned as a supplier for the furniture industry, but at the end of the 80's the desire to produce its own designs took over.
The company began its new direction with a competition among design students at the School of Architecture in Aarhus and ended up with a concept for contemporary sofa sleepers. As the concept grew, Innovation was rewarded with several design prizes and engaged in a very fruitful cooperation with the famous Danish designer, Verner Panton.
Innovation USA was founded in 1991 and today is an international furniture enterprise with production facilities in Denmark and China. Their designs are available around the globe.
As an international company, Innovation considers it their duty to contribute to better working conditions and a cleaner environment for all. Innovation has a certified environmental profile and all recyclable waste, like cardboard, plastic, iron and metal, is separated and used in other productions. Residual, combustible waste is incinerated in low-pollution plants. Packaging is reduced to the minimum needed for safe transportation. By embracing their environmental responsibility, Innovation designs have a clear vision for the future. Now that's evolved.
