![]() Intricate. Light. Bold.Once only used in industrial applications, laser cut patterns are turning up everywhere from furniture to fashion. We especially like them this time of year as we look forward to spring. The designs are delicate, fresh and often finished with a bright coat of paint — the perfect stand-in until our flowers start blooming.Though the designs are delicate, the process to create them is anything but. The patterns are created by directing the output of a high-power laser (with the assistance of a computer) at the material to be cut. The material is then melted, burned, vaporized, or blown away by a jet of gas. Through this process, intricate patterns are created out of strong materials to create an illusion of lightness. Whichever route you take, just remember that a little money can go a long way when it comes to getting your room (and yourself) through winter. |
