The Joseph Paul D'Urso Swivel Lounge provides a playful balance between utility and whimsy. Its assertive design adds distinction to any reception or lounge, particularly in today's more relaxed workplaces and hospitality settings.
The seat height is adjustable and is operated with a low profile lever, flush mounted on the underside. The base is available in three finishes: Polished Aluminum, Black texture or White textured finish. Select base finish, then select upholstery textile and color.
Each D'Urso Swivel comes with the KnollStudio logo and D'Urso's signature stamped on the underside of the chair.

As a former interior design and architecture student at Pratt Institute, Royal College of Art in London and Manchester College of Art and Design, Joseph D'Urso used his significant schooling at his practice, D'Urso Design, which focuses on the design of private residences and showrooms. D'Urso then worked for Knoll, developing his collection of high rolling tables, low tables and low, horizontal sofa seating in 1980. Once a designer for Esprit, D'Urso straddles different mediums but maintains his minimalist principles and continues to create three-dimensional spaces on a human scale.View other products by Joseph Paul D'Urso
Brand Beginnings Knoll was founded in 1938 by Hans and Florence Knoll who sought to create new types of furniture and environments for the home and workplace. Their approach was to join craftsmanship with technology through the use of design and to create beautiful home furnishings that stood the test of time visually, functionally and practically. Designed in 1929 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, it is one of the most recognized objects of the last century, and an icon of the modern movement. Skilled craftsman construct this exquisite chair by hand every day. From leather produced from a single cowhide, 40 individual leather panels are cut, hand-welted, and hand-tufted with leather buttons to upholster the chair. Premium cushions are highly resilient with a down-like softness that surrounds the sitter in luxurious comfort. Cushions are suspended by upholstery straps in cowhide belting leather over a metal frame that is hand-ground and hand-buffed to a mirror finish. Meticulously detailed, Barcelona continues to appeal to customers worldwide some 85 years after its introduction.
