Design by Eero Saarinen, 1956.
In his purist approach to architecture and interior design, Eero Saarinen sought the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution within an overall unity of design. The 16-Inch Round Side Table features Saarinen's remarkable tulip-base silhouette with a single stem base taking the place of traditional legs. The table base is constructed from molded, cast aluminum polished and coated in a tough, abrasion-resistant Rilsan finish.
- Beveled-edge table top
- Table top attaches to pedestal base with threaded rod
- Table tops offered in a wide range of woods, marbles and granites
- Heavy molded cast aluminum base, offered in several finishes
- Laminate, Natural Marble, Veneer and Granite tops are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®
- Coated marble tops are offered in two finishes: standard Polished or Satin. The satin finished marble creates a matte sheen that gives the top a natural honed appearance while offering the same protective qualities as the Polished polyester coated marble finish. Satin finish is not available on Natural Marbles.
The Knoll logo is stamped into the base of the Saarinen Tables. Tops have nameplate with designer's signature. Not suitable for outdoor use.
Beautiful, just as described

This little table can fit in just about anywhere in my modern - style house. The description they gave of the coated Carrera being subject to yellowing over time was so helpful, because I needed a touch of warm background for the color to fit in with my other furnishings, and this coated Carrera has it. Also, the particular top I received is a beautiful softly marbled piece and I love it. Customer service (Amy) was very helpful in ordering. I was a little dismayed the delivery just left the two boxes on my porch late at night (after our bedtime) when it was supposed to be white glove delivery, but since the table had no defects and it was easy to screw together it worked out fine. Will order from yliving again.
This table looks clean and would fit in any situation.

I have looked at many side tables or accent tables. The saarinen is the best quality table like this out there. You can confiqure it with many different bases or tops. Be careful on which top you choose the final price may be higher than you wanted. I got the all white stovetop with the white base. This is stunning in the correct location and I waited fot the Knoll sale which gave me 15% and free delivery.
Table is very attractive, versatile, and extremely well made.

After much research, I purchased a Saarinen tulip 16" round side table from YLiving. The table has a white base and arabescato satin finished marble top. It looks great between my Barcelona chairs or next to the Eames lounge chair. The customer reps for YLiving were very helpful in the selection process, and they seemed to always be reachable by phone. The table was delivered on time and in perfect condition. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend YLiving.
Totally worth the price! A classic to keep!

Too many options of where to put this table because it's perfect. I keep moving it around and now it's back in the place I intended it. Considering buying another.

I love this table! I got it in Arabescato with a white base. I chose YLiving because it doesn't charge sales tax or shipping, which is a huge savings on a purchase like this. I highly recommend this table.

Gorgeous side table. Great craftsmanship and streamlined style. It can be moved easily and the base slips underneath a couch almost like a tray table.
Expensive but worth it

The Saarinen side table is jewel-like as a piece of accent furniture. The fit and finish are impeccable. The white base and white marble top version is especially elegant. I'm tempted to buy another one.

Brand Beginnings Knoll was founded in 1938 by Hans and Florence Knoll who sought to create new types of furniture and environments for the home and workplace. Their approach was to join craftsmanship with technology through the use of design and to create beautiful home furnishings that stood the test of time visually, functionally and practically. The pair sought out designers willing to change the landscape of modern design, daring to ask how furniture could work better. These landmark collaborations, with pioneering modernists like Eero Saarinen, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia and Richard Schultz built a brand that today contains many of the hallmarks of modern design.
Knoll Today Knoll enjoys brand recognition throughout the world for its modern classics as well as groundbreaking new products formulated under new deigner partnerships. Few companies can match the array of Knoll products, which combine a modernist aesthetic with residential appeal. This point of view nurtured by Florence Knoll, has become the trademark of Knoll design. Today, it connects to a new generation seeking workplaces and homes that are comfortable for and beautiful for everyday living.
A Signature Piece The highly coveted Barcelona® Chair is, with little doubt, the signature Knoll piece. Designed in 1929 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, it is one of the most recognized objects of the last century, and an icon of the modern movement. Skilled craftsman construct this exquisite chair by hand every day. From leather produced from a single cowhide, 40 individual leather panels are cut, hand-welted, and hand-tufted with leather buttons to upholster the chair. Premium cushions are highly resilient with a down-like softness that surrounds the sitter in luxurious comfort. Cushions are suspended by upholstery straps in cowhide belting leather over a metal frame that is hand-ground and hand-buffed to a mirror finish. Meticulously detailed, Barcelona continues to appeal to customers worldwide some 85 years after its introduction.
Why Knoll? The Knoll names offers a rich design history – a legacy of iconic designers and inventive new collaborations. Their focus on quality and responsible manufacturing means that each piece transcends multiple generations in both use and appeal. Knoll offers furniture, accessories, textiles, felts and leathers that stimulate the senses and allow you to express who you are and what you value. They take great pride in creating the best possible product and the happiest possible customer.
