First introduced in 1956, the Tulip™ Tables demonstrate Eero Saarinen's distinct ability to balance art and technology. Impeccable lines and symmetry mark this wonderful grouping of circular tables, available in a range of table top and base materials and finishes. The Round Tulip™ Dining Tables are constructed from molded, cast aluminum polished and coated in a tough, abrasion-resistant Rilsan finish. Tables are available in wood, laminate, polished marble, satin (matte) marble and natural granite top finishes, in a wide range of colors. The base finish is available in White, Black or Platinum.
Note that marble tops are offered in two finishes: standard Polished or Satin. The satin finished marble creates a matte sheen that gives the top a natural honed appearance while offering the same protective qualities as the Polished polyester coated marble finish.
Notes:
Saarinen Dining Tables with Laminate, Natural Marble, Veneer or Granite tops are Greenguard certified. The Knoll logo is stamped into the base of the Saarinen Tables. Tops have nameplate with designer's signature. Marbles with a polyester coating will yellow over time. Not suitable for outdoor use.

Designer: Eero Saarinen
The son of architect and Cranbrook Academy of Art director Eliel Saarinen and his wife, textile artist Loja, Eero Saarinen studied sculpture in Paris and architecture at Yale before working on furniture design with Norman Bel Geddes and practicing architecture with his father. He collaborated on several projects in furniture design with his friend, Cranbrook alumnus Charles Eames, and opened his own practice in Bloomfield Hills in 1950. Among the many buildings for which he is known are the Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC, The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, and the TWA Terminal at Kennedy International Airport in New York. He was the recipient of numerous awards and the subject of many exhibitions.
