Maharam is a fourth generation family-run business that has made a name in the textile industry since it began in 1902. Originally a producer of theatrical textiles, Maharam is known for introducing the concept of contract textiles.
Based in New York, Maharam relies on a holistic approach to design and frequently collaborates with a variety of industry designers and visionaries. The Maharam Design Studio is responsible for Maharam's extensive textile collection. The collection includes re-editions of enduring designs of the twentieth century's most noted visionaries including Charles and Ray Eames, Gio Ponti, Alexander Girard and more recently, fashion designer, Paul Smith.
Maharam continues to foster collaborative projects to introduce a fresh perspective to textiles and foster conversation across varied design principles. Maharam's collection includes textiles for seating, walls, window covering, systems and healthcare applications.
