Mater introduced its new Black finish for the Space High Stools in 2010. These versatile, modern stools are handcrafted in a small carpentry shop in the Jaipur province of India that participates in the sustainable business program SUSBIZ India. Using hardwood from government controlled sources, the dark stained Oak is crafted in to the unique Space silhouette and painted Black, using water based paint. The seat is covered in black Italian leather. High Stool is available in both counter height and bar height.

Found these stools on a design website first, after an exhaustive search for new kitchen island stools, but didn't want to spend that much money. Fortunately found them for much less at YLiving. Arrived fairly quickly considering size and where they originated, no complaints at all.
