Customer Reviews Love it!I absolutely love this light. The only problem was when I completed it, the last pieces that attaches to the wire didn't fit. (cone shaped pieces). By: eva, Designer ( NYC )
A puzzlers delight! This design is amazing and if you like puzzles like my husband you will relish the chance to put this together. It's so beautiful and the light is amazing. It took about 3 hours but you can plop in front of the tv and once you get it started it really fits together in a simple way. Truly unbelievable piece of design and an incredible price. Lengthy assembly time is worth it; great design at a good price! The other reviews below are correct; this item does take about 3 hours to assemble. But it's actually kind of fun to see it come together, and the results are well worth it. I am very, very happy with the finished product. I took the advice of the previous reviewers and purchased the Westinghouse mini pendant kit to hang the fixture, and it looks great. This fixture is a good way to try out the artichoke-style lamp without shelling out a fortune, and, once assembled and hung, looks much more expensive than it is. Smart, quality design. I'd definitely purchase another Normann Copenhagen product; I like the clean, modern products. By: Kerry, Homeowner ( Miami )
Adds instant modern touch at a low price. This was fairly easy to put together once the base was assembled. Did it slowly as I watched t.v. End product is a cool modern addition that isn't expensive. By: Ian K., Homeowner ( Montgomery Village, MD )
Stunning LightThe Norm 69 is a visual treat. Every time we turn it on (and we always turn it on) we stop and look at it for a few seconds. The combination of it's intriguing and unique form along with its stark white color make for really dynamic fixture. It's in our entry and it sets the tone for the whole house! The one thing to be aware of (as is amply noted in the reviews) is the construction process. My wife and I built it together (I folded, she assembled) and it was a laborious but fun process thanks to teaming up. I honestly can't imagine doing it alone - it would take at least 3 hours! Think of it as a puzzle you can make together though and it's not that bad - just a have a drink nearby. Overall, beautiful light. Would definitely buy it again. If you have nimble fingers you'll be glad though, especially when it comes time to change the bulb ; ) By: esyme, Homeowner ( Burlington, VT )
Good, clean design, especially for price.First off, I want to say that when I read that it took others 3+ hours to assemble this, I snidely thought to myself how much faster I would surely be able to do it. It really does take that long. But it's worth it. I installed this in a two-story entry hall. With a 23w-equivalent CFL, it illuminates the space well. I would note that the light is mostly down -- the upper-half of the hall does not get a lot of light from it. It would be a bit dim with a 60-watt incandescent (as recommended), so I'd advise going for a higher-equivalency CFL, particularly if you're lighting a larger space than a table, as I was. I'll also say it was a bit inconvenient to have to get a separate lighting kit, but a Westinghouse kit (designed to go with matching pendant shades) from a home store worked well for about $15. A beautiful and affordable alternative to the Artichoke!I did read the reviews before purchasing this item, so I knew it was going to take soms (or a lot) of assembly and patience. It is a little daunting to get a flat box with a bunch of pieces that needs to be bent and manipulated, but the directions were straight-forward and easy to understand. (I have also put together many pieces from Ikea, so I'm used to picture directions instead of words!) Once I sat down and started putting it together it came together easily. After 3 hours I was finished and it looks awesome! The only thing I wish I had more direction on was the electrical components need to actually hang the lamp. However, I have has many compliments on it and it was very much worth the time and money spent! By: Susan E W., Homeowner ( Raleigh, NC )
Fun project and a great looking lamp! Most photos show this product illuminated from outside the lamp. Once it's assembled, hung, and illuminated from within by it's own light, it is delightful. Assembly does take a while. I did a step or two at a time over the course of a week. It was fun to see the progress after each step, and the final result is worth the effort. Great look. Tedious assembly with few helpful tips. The final product is extremely handsome, BUT, the assembly is extremely tedious and takes several hours at best. More importantly, the "elements" are subject to cracking when bent. From experience, I learned to work in a very warm room and not to assembly or shape the pieces on cold granite or other stone working surface. Little elf hands are helpful, too. Good luck! I liked this product very much.I was a little freaked out at first about how difficult it seemed to put it together... the directions confused me a somewhat at first. But, once I got past the initial steps the rest went really smoothly. The large is quite a substantial size, which I like. Just be sure to take into account how far it hangs down, for low ceilings it would have to hang over a table for sure. I think the light looks great and is a good value for the look it achieves. Great looking, but not easy to put together. After spending a few hours putting the lamp together, it looks great, but I would definitely warn anyone planning to buy this lamp that it is not easy to assemble. It's true that you don't need any tools or glue, but it takes a while and is hard to get the pieces into each slot. By: Natalie S., ( boulder, co )
