Love them!
By: Phoenx D., Renter (Columbia, SC)
I purchased the 72" and 60" lamps. They are absolutely sleek and beautiful. I was so excited, I took a picture of them immediately and sent to friends. All loved them. As another reviewer mentioned, the 72inch lamp is less stable than the smaller one. However, it has a VERY HEAVY base (heavier than the 60inch's), which helps with the stability. I leaned the lamp over about 10 to 15 degrees and it came back to vertical position immediately. So it has a stable equilibrium. (I have hard wood floors, which may also be a factor in its stability. The price is high, no arguing about that. But I think of them as art as well as functional lamps. Further, they were on sale and YLiving does not charge sales tax or shipping. So I had to get them. The 72inch lamp did come damaged, but YLiving is shipping a replacement - so all is good.
My wife loves it

While my wife almost adores this light I have to admit that I still have my reservations - primarily because I am concerned about the long-term durability of this light. Having said this, the light diffusion is excellent and the intensity as well (can be regulated via dimmer). At this price range it is very good value.
Good design at a good price

The nominal 60" Cortina lamp is actually a few inches shorter. It stands on a rather dense carpet without any problem. When I opened the box, I noticed that the diffuser had two small holes and the grey base had darker spots of gray that were not supposed to be there. I decided to keep the lamp because I wanted to avoid the trouble of sending it back. The materials used are unexpensive, but do not diminish the good design and function of this floor lamp. It provides a good ambience light. Task lights (if needed) and general lighting on a dimmer should be added for functionality and aesthetics .
Beautiful but slightly wobbly
By: J.P., Homeowner (California)
Arrived very quickly and in undamaged condition, so kudos to YLiving! Like other reviewers have said, this floor lamp is best suited for hardwood floors (where it's less likely to topple over) and homes that don't have playful kids or pets. While the base of the lamp is quite heavy, the way the shade fits onto the base leaves the lamp a bit shaky. (The taller the lamp, the shakier.) You could glue the shade to the base of the lamp, but then you'd have a very difficult time changing the halogen bulbs and removing the shade to clean it (as dust easily collects on the inside). Overall, though, the dimmer feature is great and the Cortina lamp is very aesthetically pleasing.
