The Grand Cru Carafes are a stylish way to present wine. The classic cone shape offers the carafe a low center of gravity with good balance. The vertical lines in the glass secure a good grasp.
Decanting wine in to the Carafe creates an improved taste experience. And it was designed so that the Grand Cru Wine Pourer and Wine Stopper (available and sold separately) can be used with it.
Erik Bagger (b. 1949) is originally a goldsmith by trade. After finishing his apprenticeship, he was employed by Georg Jensen, where he worked until he became self-employed. As a goldsmith, Erik Bagger acquired a keen sense of detail, which is still characteristic in his designs today. At the same time he has learned that it is possible to combine a series of different materials in a unified whole.
A visit to USA was the reason Erik Bagger decided to become a freelance designer in 1987. However, it was also because that he could see the endless opportunites presented by the combination of steel, plastic and rubber. And something that is typical "erik bagger" was that he was also able to see the humor in using these materials. Some, and perhaps the majority of people, view rubber, plastic and steel as symbols of a cold and industrialized world. But when these materials have been through the hands of Erik Bagger, a warm and user friendly product, with a "sparkle in the eye", is produced.
Erik Bagger has the following demands on the design:

For if the product does not have these three qualities, it won't bear the name of Erik Bagger.
Treat favored wines exquisitely. To decant means to re-pour. A wine that is poured into a carafe around an hour before being served will open itself, because the aroma and flavor awake upon contact with oxygen. The Grand Cru carafes are made from stainless steel and clear glass without lead, enabling the beautiful color of the wine to be viewed and enjoyed.

Sleek carafe
This is a sleekly designed carafe that can even be taken along on a picnic. It helps aerate the wine and is a pleasure to pour. I love using it to entertain or to tote along on an outing.
Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
