With integrity, conscientious use of resources and a sense of accountability to the customer, Ole Palsby has made it his business to bring quality to our everyday lives; to shape the way we do things by bringing the user-friendliness of the professional kitchen into people's kitchens at home. He does this by creating designs that lack nothing, yet incorporate nothing superfluous
To Ole Palsby's mind, products must not divert attention away from food and drink; instead, they should accentuate the visual appearance, aroma and form of the food. Food preparation, meals and meal table are central for Ole Palsby as he designs items for us.
Ole Palsby finds much of his inspiration in Japan and the Zen philosophy, which has influenced his basic principles of design: "Our overall experience is a synergy of all our senses — sight, taste, smell, hearing and touch," and this has pointed the way to his design goal: "To shape kitchen utensils and tableware so that they become an integral part of food preparation and mealtimes."
Ole Palsby has designed Rosendahl's storage jars. The underlying concept was to give the jars a timeless look. The stoppers have the simple, arched handle that is so characteristic of many of Ole Palsby's designs. The shape portrays the function; the stopper is removed by a simple vertical movement.
World-famous designer Ole Palsby has designed the new Rosendahl Opus range. Ole Palsby's designs have led the field in European design for decades and are characterized by bold, simple styling as well as their immense practicality.
The design principle behind the Opus range is that the function should determine the choice of materials. Accordingly, the range incorporates clear glass and the finest bone china — a delight to the eye and to the touch. A whole collection of design classics.
Herman Miller's 3D Intelligent back material is a seating technology designed for the SAYL™ Chair. The 3-dimensional mesh-like suspension material is stretched from the Y-Tower at the back of the chair just as cables are stretched from the towers of a suspension bridge. The tension is greater in the transition areas, from the thoracic to the lumbar regions and between the lumbar area and sacrum. "Hinge points" allow these areas to flex and support the healthy, forward rotation of the pelvis. At the same time, less tension in other parts of the back encourages a full range of seated movement.
Y-Tower
Y-Tower is the primary support structure of Herman Miller's SAYL™ Chair. The Y-Tower retains tension, replacing the traditional frame of task chairs. It works like the towers from which a bridge is suspended and combines with a 3D Intelligent suspension material to provide frameless back support that hugs the user's back from resting through reclining, forward leaning and twisting motions.
