The Spar Floor Lamp is a large cantilevered floor light that takes its inspiration from the mast arrangements of classic sailing boats. The simple, two dimensional silhouette relies on a tensioned electrical cable for support. Its clean, minimalist design inspires creativity and enginuity in modern living and working spaces. Spar is constructed from spun aluminum and steel and breaks down for easy shipping and storage.

Since graduating in 1999 with a BDes in Industrial Design, Jamie Mclellan has designed for manufacturers and consultancies in Australia, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Asia and America. Before estblishing his own practise in late 2006, Jamie was most recently employed as Senior Designer to well known Briton, Tom Dixon. Currently splitting his time between New York and New Zealand, Jamie is working on a wide range of products, from furniture and lighting to windsurfing equipment, beer taps, coffins, kayaks, bicycles and more, including the Flyover Coffee Tables and the Spar Floor Light manufactured by Resident.
