Made in the U.S.A.

These reproduction bullet planters were first manufactured in the 1950's, their conical "bullet" forms inspired by the era's fascination for modern, space age style. As mid-20th century America saw technological advancements across the spectrum of modern living, so too did the world of design. The introduction of new materials allowed for new possibilities in shape, color and quality of manufactured goods. Fiberglass-reinforced resin was especially popular at the time for being lightweight and durable, while allowing for unique shapes and integral colors not possible with traditional materials. And it was quickly introduced into a wide variety of everyday objects from colorful lamps, to chairs and home accessories.

And along came the colorful, stylish bullet planter. Use it for plants, as an ice bucket, or as a catch-all for daily odds and ends. The Retro Bullet Planter is an authentic reproduction of vintage originals in shape, size, and the distinctive texture of molded fiberglass. Planters are offered in a wide variety of colors and nested in powder-coated, steel tripod stands available in three heights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent planter Been looking for a vintage bullet planter for a while, just couldn't find one in my area. Bought this in the tall and white planter. Love it! Sturdy stand and deep planter makes this versatile for a lot of plants. Just order another one, can't wait for it to arrive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gorgeous it looks lovely. it's light but doesn't feel flimsy. The only tricky thing is to find the right planter to go inside, since you should not plant directly into the bullet. Take your bullet to you local gardening center and they will help you find a solution

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the retro bullet is a very stylish planter. I recently ordered a retro bullet planter. I was largely pleased . The only drawbacks are that it wasn't as heavy duty as I would have liked, and there was no hole in the bottom for excess water to drain out. I had assumed that the melamine material would have been a bit more durable. However, the stylish nature of the planter far exceeds all the pottery planters on the market. I really really like this and am very happy I purchased it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for our patio! We love this bullet planter. It's our second one. We bought it because they hold up very well outdoors, better than any other planter we have. No rust or deterioration. The color is great, a very deep blue. We will undoubtedly order another one as we love them so much. The hardest part will be which color!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice lines I had to drill a hole at the bottom so that water can drain. Make sure you drill from the outside in as the hole won't be perfect when the drill bit goes through and comes out. Otherwise, the orange is gorgeous and provides a great contrast with any green plant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice retro planter This retro planter goes perfectly in our mid-century home. The color was very well represented on the site. Please note that the bullet shape when filled with dirt gets a little out of its perfect round shape, but does not effect the overall look of the planter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I was very pleased with my order I love the Retro Bullet Planter. I had a smaller one and was very excited to see that a larger one was available. I also loved the price over the one offered by other online sites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from chartreuse and classy I like it very much. I should've realized, however, that there is no drainage; one must be careful not to overwater. That aside, it's beautiful and a subtle statement accessory.

I want to use this planter on a 2nd floor covered deck outside, and was wondering how to best plant in it without drilling holes in it for drainage, yet not having to worry about over watering?  Thanks!

Asked by: junjun
That's a great question! You can us a 2nd holed liner pot for best results. Place a small inverted plant pot or a large flat stone in the bottom of a container without holes. Insert a holed liner pot containing your plant inside the outer pot. The inverted pot or stone in the bottom creates a reservoir beneath the inner pot and keeps the soil around the roots from remaining soggy by raising the bottom of the inner pot above the water line. Lift the inner pot and pour off any excess water from the decorative pot as needed. With careful selection, double potting is an effective way to safely use decorative containers without holes to display your plants. If you have additional questions, we are happy to help!
