The Nambu Tekki Cast Iron Pan with Wood Lid is both beautiful and functional, delivering an ideal kitchen accent with timeless quality and aesthetics.
Nambu Cast Iron was first made in the middle of the 17th century in Iwate, Northern Japan, where amaster from Kyoto was summoned to create an iron pot for a tea ceremony. This was the beginning of the Nambu Tekki (Cast Iron) craft, which has become exemplary of Japanese Traditional Craft, and is still popular today. Its black color is the result of a Japanese lacquer glaze call urushi which prevents rust. The Nambu Tekki Pan with Wood Lid is part of a range of cookware and home accent designs in the famed material for this collection offered from Saikai.
