Designer Takeshi Nii named the "NY Chair" after his family name Nii, and also the Danish word for "new" or "fresh". The designer's passion for chairs began when he saw a director's chair in a magazine before WWII. While repeating tests for functional chairs, Nii saw a beautiful chair with a fabric seat from Denmark. Inspired by these chairs, Nii produced the folding chair and its companion pieces.

This rocking chair version of the stylish chair boasts the same wooden armrests and compact folding options. A rocker you can pack away or take along - genius!

Designer Takeshi Nii's policy is to produce functional and reasonable chairs for daily use. Easily folded and tucked away for storage then pulled and moved to one place or many for use, the NY Rocking Chair meets these design principles splendidly.
