Drawing inspiration from his iconic Bubble Chair (1968), Eero Aarnio's Ring Chair takes the protective transparency of Bubble one step further by removing the enclosure entirely. A broad circular swath of tubular chromed metal encircles the spacious and comfortable seat upholstered in luxurious black Kvadrat wool fabric. A ball shaped armrest recalls Aarnio's recent Keinu rocking chair.
The Ring Chair has architectural, sculptural and functional appeal and, like Aarnio's iconic Bubble Chair, the Ring Chair is suspended from the ceiling with a classic metal chain.
Eero Aarnio's Ring Chair, designed in 2009, is upholstered in black Kvadrat wool fabric, encircled by tubular chromed metal with a ball shaped armrest. Like Aarnio's iconic Bubble Chair (1968), the Ring Chair is suspended from the ceiling with a classic metal chain. Made in Finland.

Designer: Eero Aarnio
Eero Aarnio was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1932. He studied interior and industrial design at the School of Applied Arts in Helsinki from 1954 to 1957 and opened his own design office in Helsinki in 1962. The recipient of multiple design awards, Eero Aarnio's designs are represented in some of the most significant museums worldwide including Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MoMA in New York and Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.

Adelta is the worldwide distributor of original Eero Aarnio fiberglass designs. These designs are produced exclusively by the same factory in Finland since the 1960s using the original molds. Eero Aarnio was — and still is — a pioneer in using plastic in industrial design. Plastic material set designers free to create every shape and use every color they wanted.
