Majamoo is a Finnish design company that produces timeless quality tableware and accessories for everyday use. Founded in 1998 by Finnish designer Jani Martikainen, Majamoo is notable for its unique Seamless Wood Technology that enables the manufacture of compressed cylindrical plywood products that can be molded into various shapes and sizes.
The Majamoo Trivet was awarded a prize in Alvar Aalto's centenary year competition and recalls Aalto's fluid undulating forms. Most Majamoo products are made in the company workshop located in Nummela, near Helsinki.
Jani Martikainen was born in 1971 in Finland and graduated from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki with a degree in Furniture Design and Interior Architecture. He worked in several design companies in Finland and Russia before founding Majamoo in 1998.
