With a vision of creating beautifully designed products with premium quality materials and time-honored techniques, Simon Pearce produces hand crafted glassware, tableware and gifts intended for a lifetime of use.
Simon Pearce--the man for which the company is named--was raised on the coast of Ireland. The son of a potter, Simon had instilled in him at a young age, an appreciation for well designed, functional objects that were handcrafted by designers and artists. In a time when many glass manufacturers mass produce glass pieces in large factories, Simon Pearce seeks to renew the art of traditional methods of glassblowing, where perfection comes from the uniqueness that can only be made with the human hand.
Each piece of Simon Pearce glass is hand-blown and finished by a skilled artisan in the Simon Pearce studio located on the scenic banks of the Ottauquechee River in Vermont. In keeping with hundreds of years of tradition, the mill providing electricity to the Simon Pearce studio is completely hydro-powered by the adjacent river, serving to cut down on the cost of electricity while maintaining a sustainable and ecologically friendly business.
Today, Simon Pearce looks to the future, employing a new generation of designers and glassblowers who further Simon's vision of creating glass using a combination of timeless artisanship and contemporary design.
