Matthias Demacker studied design at FH Niederrhein in Krefeld. Upon graduation, he relocated to Munich and in 2003 he created his own design studio. His design focus is on furniture, light and accessories and he has received many acknowledgements at the international level.

Leaders in Shaped Glass Contemporary Furniture, Sovet Italia was founded at the end of the 1980's when glass gained incredible traction as a viable material in the furniture market. At the time, innovative glass processing techniques began to pave the way for unique artistic expression in the material.
