Spinneybeck was founded in 1962, with a simple beginning out of a workshop in rural Canada. That small company introduced the North American design community to full grain, aniline dyed Italian leather. And, in three decades it has grown to be the world's leading and largest supplier of quality upholstery leather, working with the likes of Knoll, Cherner & Emeco to create beautiful home furnishings.

This renowned tannery and leather supplier broke new ground when it introduced leather rugs in 2006. Spinneybeck rugs combine the natural beauty of fine leather with the most extensive color palette in the industry to create an unlimited number of possibilities for modern floor coverings. Every rug is a unique creation, blending geometric sophistication with a modernist spirit. Designed by noted architect Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, Spinneybeck rugs are fabricated with superb craftsmanship from the fine Italian leathers for which Spinneybeck is known.

Handcrafted leathers are sourced by sustainable means, using hides that are a bi-product of the meat industry. Hides are tanned, dyed and finished at a tannery in Italy. Spinneybeck works to ensure that their processes are environmentally friendly: from the use of vegetable dyes to the recycling of packaging and shipping materials. And Spinneybeck is GREENGUARD Certified. Their collection of leathers and rugs have been certified to produce no VOCs.
