The Subway Rug is produced in leather patches inspired by rectangular subway tiles. A 'reveal' feature allows you to customize this rug with contrasting or complimentary hues amid the spacing of the tiles. Select from a virtually unlimited number of rich leather colors to create a truly unique custom floor covering.
To create your Subway Rug, simply select colors for the primary subway tile areas and a secondary hue for the reveal. Includes an integral black felt backer which extends 0.25" around the perimeter of the leather surface. Thread color matches the rectangular tile color. And a final layer of non-slip rubber backer is attached at one end of the rug.
All Spinneybeck Leather is tanned, dyed, and finished in Italy, according to the most stringent environmental requirements, and all leathers are Greenguard™ certified. Every rug is a unique creation, blending geometric sophistication with a modernist spirit. Designed by noted architect Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, Spinneybeck rugs are fabricated with superb craftsmanship from the finest Italian leather.

Every Spinneybeck Subway Rug is a unique creation expertly crafted from the finest Italian leather. Customize from virtually endless combinations in two leathers: one for the rectangular leather 'tiles', and a second color for the reveal. Subway is offered in four sizes. Select from an extensive offering of leather colors for the main leather color and another color for the rug's reveal feature.

Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, the daughter of prominent architect and designer Gianfrano Frattini, has built her career upon her own accomplishments. After receiving her master's in architecture at Milan Politecnico, she worked for Charles Pfister's London office and Tibor Kalman in New York before she opened her self-titled design and architecture firm, EFM, in New York City. With accomplishments in fields as varied as architecture, industrial, interior and graphic design, Frattini designed the award winning Knoll the Propeller table system.

Handcrafted leathers are sourced by sustainable means, using hides that are a bi-product of the meat industry. Hides are tanned, dyed and finished at a tannery in Italy. Spinneybeck works to ensure that their processes are environmentally friendly: from the use of vegetable dyes to the recycling of packaging and shipping materials. And Spinneybeck is GREENGUARD Certified. Their collection of leathers and rugs have been certified to produce no VOCs.
